APMA Capacity Building Project

The aim of the project is to support and develop IT and Tourism Industries with establishing, development and promoting Armenian Project Management association in Armenia. It will help to develop required knowledge and skills for more successful projects in IT, Tourism, Construction and other industries. These skills are really essential for any kind of projects and programs, which could be done in mentioned fields. Generally the project is aimed to develop required documentation and materials for successful promoting of Project Management knowledge within IT companies, Incoming Tourist Operators, University students, senior level staff and practicing professionals. To do it we need to establish cooperation with some International organization to bring theirs background and experience, to develop high level services and products, which will contribute to organization marketing and promotion. Although we are willing to develop services on high level we will need small promotion and advertising campaign to get involved all professionals working as project managers.



Objectives



Objectives of this project could be presented in two separate views. From one side it is general project development objectives and from another side it’s organizational objectives, which is secondary objectives for this project.



Primary project objectives



  1. Establishing the Armenian Project Management Association. This has been done on first level of official registration and validation.
  2. Creating background for organization by creating all required documentation, materials and body of knowledge for Armenian project managers.
  3. Establishing recognition of Armenian Project Management Association on International level by registering for membership into International Project Management Association and signing alliance with PMI and APM UK.
  4. Developing high quality services and products using experience and knowledge of APMA founders involving them as volunteers.
  5. Establishing special Project Management trainings for members of IT and Tourism non-governmental organizations.
  6. Providing special short term consulting for mentioned industries companies to establish high level Project Management practice in Industry.
  7. Developing high level customer care and support by developing web-site and special materials. This will include publishing on-line magazine which will be disseminated to members.
  8. Publishing official publication of Armenian Project Management Body of Knowledge for project managers edited by founders of APMA.


After final establishing of Armenian Project Management Association the outcome of this project will be member association with following objectives, which is also part of main objectives mentioned above:



  1. Successful at establishing individual and organizational appreciation of the value of project management.
  2. The leader in defining the project management career path by setting the bar for excellence in certification.
  3. The organization where the “great minds” in project management share their ideas.
  4. The provider of forums to explore the potential growth and maturation of the profession.
  5. The leader in the evolution of the profession and the maturity of its practice.
  6. The primary source for gathering and disseminating project management knowledge and information.
  7. The organization where rights of all members is advocated as part of whole strategy.
