At the heart of APMA are the bodies of knowledge associated with the PMI, the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and the APM; in all, there are fifty-two knowledge areas required to manage any successful project. We promote the implementation of these bodies of knowledge around project management through support of a number of qualifications, accredited training, publications and events.
Aims
- Success in the establishment of individual and organizational appreciation for the value of project management as a body of knowledge.
- Attainment of a leadership position in defining project management career paths and setting the bar for excellence in certification.
- Building an organization where the “great minds” of project management sphere convene to share their ideas.
- Establishment as the organizer of forums to explore the potential growth and maturation of the profession.
- Providing leadership in the evolution of the profession and the maturity of its practice.
- Service as a primary source for gathering and disseminating project management knowledge and information.
- Becoming an organization where the rights of all members are advocated as part of a collective.
Objectives
Our objectives are based around six key areas:
- Knowledge: Becoming the recognised source for the development and dissemination of knowledge for project management.
- Professional Development: Developing and maintaining an internationally recognised structure of qualifications relevant to cross-sector practice.
- Membership: Attracting and retaining members through a growing range of value-for-money services and products.
- International: Promoting and protecting the interests and standards of APMA and its members at home and abroad.
- Governance & Administration: Providing an efficient, cost-effective, transparent core for APMA to deliver the plans, services and products to members, potential members and society as a whole.
- Code of Conducts: Create Armenian Project Managers code of conducts to implement it in member’s organizations. Additionally, APMA will protect any member in case if any company will violate professional code of conduct accepted by APMA member.
- Advocating members on professional field: To be able to provide strong union type membership for all managers of Armenia. APMA is aimed to establish strong network and fight for it's member's rights.
Some short therm targets:
- Sign contract with AUA: APMA will outsource all training to AUA EXTension department, where high level professionals will maintain a high quality and level to all trainings.
- Sign contract British Council and IREX: APMA will outsource all certification to British Council. As trust levels in Armenia for NGO's are generally low, APMA members have decided to extend all functions of certification to the British Council and to IREX. All certificates produced by IPMA/APMA and PRINCE2 will be effectuated by the British Council. All other US certifications will be managed through IREX.
- Officially inclusion in the Agile Alliance: APMA will be joining the Agile Alliance in order to attract the best companies and membership as the network grows and evolves.
